Queen West Toronto
I worked at a clinic in Queen West, so I thought this was a great place to start this list from, a vibrant area of the city that I explored. There are so many interesting people watching from some of these patios, and great boutique shops to explore. A great place to explore in Toronto.
Gladstone Hotel 1214 Queen West – has some amazing salads on their lunch menu, I had the flat iron salad pictured right. The atmosphere is very chill, and they have all their menus posted online so you can predetermine what you will eat (and even call ahead to ask for ingredients) before arriving with your friends.
Fusaro’s Italian Kitchen 147 Spadina Ave (1/2 block south of Queen St West) – Italian was a childhood favourite style of eating, but I have found it sometimes difficult to eat their as an adult. Yeah, Fusaro, even in the hectic lunch hour, they happily made me gluten free pasta that was delicious. I don’t think it notes gluten free options on the menu yet, but the staff were very accommodating and it was hassle free dining.
Fresh 147 Spadina Ave (1/2 block south of Queen St West) – A standby for any healthy eater. Fresh has a vast menu of choices as well as order ahead on your smart phone option! Bonus: there are many locations throughout the city.
Freshii 65 Queen West – Another restaurant with locations throughout the city and even at the Airport! All their wraps can be made as green wraps, meaning you can eat that delicious sandwich without worrying about being glutinated.
Urban Herbivore Eaton’s Centre Food Court South Side – You go to the mall, one of the hardest places to find food, and you find this gem. Build your own salad or grain bowl using a wide variety of fresh ingredients, and include tempeh or tofu to build your protein.
